Psoriasis Treatment

Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease in which cells reproduce rapidly. In Israel, 3% to 5% of the population suffer from Psoriasis.

Due to the high percentage of people with psoriasis, it is common to see different levels of skin irritation. The disease usualy appears during the ages of 20-30 but also at 50-60. The disease shows equally in both men and women. The disease is not contagous and not deadly, but is highly uncomfortable due to the itching and stinging.

How do you treat it?

The best treatment is going to the Dead Sea (salt water, sun) or sulfur pools. The treatment of psoriasis in the dead sea is highly effective and helps in reduction and calming of the irritation. The amount of time required is around two-three weeks two times a year.

The success percentage in dead sea treament is around 15%-30%, but sun exposure is even more effective. Each visit to the dead sea must be priorly consulted with a doctor specializing in psoriasis as too much exposure might lead to complications.
